Döveç Group established a Solar Energy Power Plant producing 1100 kWp of electricity from 3336 units of 330 Watt solar panels on a 20-acre area in Aslan Village in 2019. Döveç documented its sensitivity to the environment by certifying the energy plant, which can produce approximately 2 million kWs of electricity sufficient for about 400 households within a 365-day period, preventing CO2 emissions equivalent to what more than 62000 trees could clean. In this way, Döveç Group became the first firm in the construction sector to certify renewable energy use in Cyprus at an international level.
REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) is a type of Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) that represents the environmental characteristics of one megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy produced from renewable sources. The I-REC renewable energy certificate is recognized by leading global reporting organizations such as GHGP, CDP, and RE100 as a reliable and verifiable evaluation institution.
Döveç Group, which organizes tree planting activities with the awareness of healthy living, environmental sensitivity, and social responsibility, leads activities to clean natural areas, pays attention to environmental interaction in material selection, and emphasizes the use of renewable energy sources, has now documented that it meets 100% of its energy consumption from zero-carbon green energy sources with an international certificate, I-REC.
Buğra Döveç, a member of the Board of Directors of Döveç Group, stated that the company continuously works to fulfill its environmental responsibilities at the highest level possible with the vision of "A Clean Breath for the Future." He mentioned that the solar energy plant they implemented in Aslanköy prevents CO2 emissions worth 1,400,000 kg per year. He also pointed out that the electricity consumed by all Döveç Group companies is met with renewable energy. He thanked BAR-ER Enerji Ltd., which carried out the establishment of the Döveç Solar Energy Plant, and Powertech Engineering & Consultancy Ltd., a partner in the I-REC certification process, for their contribution to the development of Green Energy Certificates in the TRNC.
